Competing in Joe Martin's Stage Race April 25th to April 28th | DAHLONEGA, GEORGIA (April 20, 2013)— The 5-hour ENERGY® presented by Kenda Racing Team has returned from Spain and is preparing for the Joe Martin Stage Race presented by Nature Valley in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Team currently sits atop the 2013 men’s National Racing Calendar standings with 384 points. Team captain, Francisco “Paco” Mancebo (ESP), who finished second in the General Classification (G.C.) at Vuelta a Castilla y León, leads the NRC men’s individual rankings. Teammate David Williams (USA) is fifth overall on NRC individual standings.

In its 11th year as an NRC cycling event, the Joe Martin Stage Race presented by Nature Valley will take place from April 25-28. It is expected to include over 700 athletes from 20 countries and all 50 states. Mancebo won this race last year.

The 5-hour ENERGY® presented by Kenda Racing Team roster for the Joe Martin Stage Race will include:

-Bobby Sweeting (Asheville, N.C.)
-David Williams (Grand Rapids, Mich.)

The Joe Martin Stage Race is a four-day, four-event race across difficult courses in Arkansas. The Thursday Time Trial is a 2.5-mile uphill course in Devil’s Den State Park with an average grade of 6.8%. The Friday Road Race covers a demanding course of over 5,400 feet of climbing. There is a 9.2-mile section with an average grade of 2.7% and the finishing straight has a 6% uphill grade over the last 350 meters. The Saturday Road Race is a challenging course with difficult climbs, but includes beautiful scenery as a pay-off. This course involves a 23-mile loop with over 1,500 feet of climbing per lap. The staging area and finish line is in Fayetteville at the intersection of 15th and Razorback. The final event is the 1.2-mile Sunday Criterium that starts and finishes in downtown Fayetteville.
